Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based, 8-week course.  Developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn to help individuals cope with chronic pain and stress. Today, it has been adapted to address various forms of stress, including burnout, anxiety, depression.  MBSR reduces suffering and increases overall mental, emotional and physical well-being.

MBSR is richly experiential.  It incorporates mindfulness meditation, gentle movement exercises as well as body and mind awareness activities. Through exploration, participants learn to become more in tuned to thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. You’ll gain the practical skills to build resilience and respond to life’s challenges with increased clarity.

What’s included in MBSR:

Whether you are taking the MBSR class live or on Zoom, you will be participating in each of the following:

Orientation | 2.5 hours:

We’ll discuss the course, review participant expectations and I’ll answer any questions you may have.

8 Weekly Classes | 2.5 hours each:

We will meet weekly at the same.  During each of the 8-week classes we will be exploring concepts such as mindfulness, perception, conditioning, habitual reactivity, stress, skillful communication, etc.

All Day Retreat | 7.5 hours:

Hosted during the 2nd part of the program, this meditation retreat creates space for even deeper understanding and practice.

Home Practice:

Participants will receive guided meditations for home practice as well as awareness exercises.
